Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2026

Initio Finance is a trading name of XTO Capital Group Pty Ltd (ABN 29 672 522 673), Credit Representative Number 556132, authorised under Finsure Finance and Insurance Pty Ltd (Australian Credit Licence 384704). This policy explains how we handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Kinds of personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact details, such as your name, phone number, email address, and address
  • Financial information relevant to assessing your situation, such as debt balances, income, employment, and property or asset details
  • Information about your credit history or credit worthiness, where relevant to a credit assistance request
  • Technical information about how you use this website, such as pages viewed and device type

We only collect information that is reasonably necessary for the services we provide.

2. How we collect your information

Wherever practicable, we collect personal information directly from you — for example, through our website's eligibility quiz, contact forms, email, or phone conversations. We may also collect information from third parties described in section 5 below, such as a lender you've applied with, or a referrer who has your consent to pass on your details.

3. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose it

We collect and use your personal information to:

  • Assess your financial position and identify finance or debt consolidation options that may suit you
  • Prepare and present a strategy, quote, or credit proposal
  • Communicate with you about your enquiry, application, or an existing arrangement
  • Meet our obligations as a credit representative under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 and the Privacy Act 1988
  • Improve our services and this website

What happens if you don't provide it

If you choose not to provide the information we request, we may be unable to assess your situation or assist you in arranging finance.

4. Our website's eligibility quiz and automated decisions

This website includes a short quiz that uses the answers you provide (such as debt amount, property value, and existing arrangements) to give an initial, indicative sense of whether our services may be relevant to your situation.

This quiz does not make a credit decision, does not check your credit file, and does not determine your eligibility for any loan or finance product. It is a preliminary filter only. Any actual recommendation, strategy, or application involves review by Steven Christodoulos or a member of our team.

5. Who we may share your information with

We may exchange your information with:

  • Lenders and other finance providers, or those to whom an application has been made on your behalf, including any credit reporting body they may consult as part of assessing that application
  • Financial consultants, accountants, lawyers, and other advisers
  • Any industry body, tribunal, court, or other party in connection with a complaint regarding our services
  • Any party we are required or authorised by law to disclose to
  • Our associates, related entities, contractors, and outsourcing partners, some of which are located overseas, including in the Philippines
  • Parties who verify the information you provide, such as your employer, accountant, or superannuation provider
  • Any party considering acquiring an interest in our business or assets
  • Providers of online identity verification services

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the parties listed above are located outside Australia, including in the Philippines. Before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure that recipient does not breach the Australian Privacy Principles in relation to that information, though APP entities are not always able to guarantee an overseas recipient will handle information exactly as an Australian entity would.

6. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law, and take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it once it is no longer needed.

7. Cookies and website analytics

This website may use cookies and similar technologies, including third-party tools for video, reviews, and appointment booking, to help the site function and to understand how visitors use it. Where a cookie is not strictly necessary for the site to work, we seek your consent before it is set. You can change your cookie preferences or withdraw consent at any time through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not function as intended if you do.

8. Accessing or correcting your information

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time by contacting us using the details in section 10. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and will not charge you for making a request, though a reasonable charge may apply to providing access in some circumstances.

9. How to make a complaint

If you have a complaint about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us directly first, using the details in section 10. We will aim to acknowledge your complaint promptly and resolve it within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, or haven't heard back within 30 days, you can escalate your complaint to either of the following external bodies, both free to use:
